coconut oil for health :-) & must read

http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/healthscience/2012/January/Coconut-Oil-Touted-as-Alzheimers-Remedy/

Hello, Me again.. :-)

My daughter , Daisha has a neighbor with Alzheimers, so she told the husband about coconut oil & the Christian web site (CBN.com) with a video & article about the benefits of coconut oil.
I wanted to pass on the info to you all  , so it you know anyone that has alzheimers or even a strong family leaning , you can pass on the info to them.

it has even shown benefits for some with demintia .

I say if it helps a bit or even stops the progression in it's tracks.. it's worth it . esp something as gentle &  healthy as coconut  oil..
( And to think our lovely FDA took it out of movie theatres b/c they thought it was bad ! Wow.. love the Gov . )

A small excert from the article & video :
Alternative Brain Fuel
In this case, insulin problems prevent brain cells from accepting glucose, their primary fuel. Without it, they eventually die.
But there is an alternative fuel -- ketones, which cells easily accept. Ketones are metabolized in the liver after you eat medium chain triglicerides, found in coconut oil.
Dr. Newport added coconut oil to her husband Steve's diet. Just two weeks later, he took the clock test again and demonstrated stunning improvement.
"I thought at the time, was it just good luck? Was it a lot of prayer? Was it the coconut oil?" she said. "And I thought, well, we're going to keep the coconut oil going."
Three weeks later, Steve took the clock test a third time and continued to perform better on it.
And it wasn't just intellectually, he also improved emotionally and physically.
"He was not able to run. He was able to run again," she recalled. "He could not read for about a year and a half, but after two or three months he was able to read."

Christmas is almost here :_)

Hello,

Last evening we were showered with ice & snow pellets. makes for a scary drive home for many.
Lots of accidents were reported too, raining Ice is no fun on windshields .
Thankfully Hubby made it home safely.

we had a nice warm supper & then watched "The Christmas story ". Hubby joked , we should wait for Daisha, isn't this her favorite movie ? ( NOT !)

Have you completed all your shopping , how about your decorating & baking ?

I'm afraid I have not. :-) but the last minute rush is fun,, isn't it ?

this year I decided not to put up a lot of my old decorations. yea for me !
But .......... that did limit what I had to put up, so , decorations are a bit sparse.
I also didn't want a lot of non-Christmas stuff up.. I do have a collection of Santas..
they are currently residing on the fire place in the dining room.
I would love to have true Christmas items like a Nativity Set. Can you believe I don't even own
one ? I know! over the years the girls have both been given a set by my mom.. so we put those up.
So that is something to be in search of :-) If I had realized I could have bought a HUGE set at the thrift store.. they wanted a pretty penny for it ..but it certainly was worth the above normal thrift store prices ! 75.00 I think it was. but it was beautiful and HUGE.

today is a day of Schooling.. & cleaning.. a load of jeans sets in the washer.. & the carpets certainly need vacuumed ..
possibly the old bananas will be made into delicious b-bread :_) yummy..

may you all have a Blessed day .
Lisa
PS .. be careful with space heaters. I hung curtains between out dining room and kitchen.. so pretty... well the space heater sets just inside the family room.. and wouldn't you know it.
the dog ran thru the curtains and of course I smelled something funny............ well.. it was the bottom of the curtain ! Thank GOD it just melted & didn't go up in flames.
be careful out there ladies ..

What a time it was.. snowed in.. the kids couldn't come home until sunday afternoon.. ( No church cuz the snow drifted back in !)

It was a nice to have daisha and max here & my niece Ashley came too.. with her Owen. hope we helped her from being a bit bored while hubby was working.

Daisha gave me so wonderful hand painted yarn.. she told me it was great for socks.
is she nuts.. ? i wouldn't want this yarn to touch a shoe.. let a lone this nasty floor.. Must think of something else to make it.. a shawl perhaps ? Thanks Daisha.

Jena was thrilled with everything she got.. esp. her r-skates.. :-) so that made my day .
max was a bit unhappy with his.. but that's b/c he hasn't really learned to skate.. he'l be a pro once he gets going.

kim was very happy with his new golf balls .. with the Big Ne. N on them.. bet he doesn't shoot those out into the corn field :-)

kim and I are looking forward to the SNOW melting.. but according to the weather guy........ that is a LONG time coming ! rats.
At least there is a bit of sun today.. so we must be thankful for what we have.

kim has been taking the van to work , cuz the car is still in the garage..

God Bless you all in the coming year..

Oh,,

Well,

We're almost to Christmas !!

I finally did what I promised myself Years ago..
I put a set amount of money in an envelope for the kids , and when that was gone, they were done.. no ifs ands or butts about it :-)
A lady ahead of us in line seemed to be doing the same thing.. only to make it even MORE doable, she had the clerk ring the items up separately !
genus ! Pay with the cash.. put the change back in said envelope..

Not maybe the most favorable of things to do to the person behind you :_)
but hey, it works !
So I had the clerk ring my items up per their appointed envelope & YEA !! loved it !
So if you have been doing this right along.. Great going !
if you're thinking about this option for next year .. why wait? Try it for birthdays this coming year , you'll be glad you did .. I know I was :-)

Blessings to all !

25 Similarities Between America and Nazi Germany

By Brannon Howse

www.worldviewmatters.net

Socialism imposes the redistribution of wealth and private property through an all-powerful, freedom-robbing central government. Pagan spirituality embraces the worship of nature along with occult practices and beliefs. Pragmatism proclaims that the truth or worth of an idea is based solely upon the results it brings (pragmatists believe that truth is relative, situational, and that a desired end justifies any means required to reach it). All three of these political, spiritual, and intellectual systems have taken a dominant place in the American worldview.

Doomsday—Again

It's been said that if we don't learn from history we are doomed to repeat it. There are those who have even compared the rumblings in America today as similar to those in pre-Nazi Germany of the 1930s. While I don't buy the notion that our government might be ready to establish concentration camps, the storm clouds heading this way have brought ideas into our public policy, laws, and national consciousness that bear a frightening resemblance to what has gone before—in the worst of times. This same collection of worldviews laid a foundation for the atrocities and godless government of Hitler's Germany.

Adolph Hitler, you'll recall, established the National Socialist German Workers' Party. He also bought into what I call One World Spirituality, a merging of the three worldviews of evolutionary humanism, Hindu pantheism, and occultism.

Atheism in America is no longer in vogue among our "intellectual elite." It's being replaced by the far more insidious pantheism—insidious because it is more acceptable to the masses than outright disbelief in God. Pantheism is on track to become the dominate worldview in America and around the world in very short order.

Similar Is as Similar Does

Please understand that I'm not sensationalizing when making these observations. First Chronicles 12:32 says men of the tribe of Issachar were called wise because they "understood the times and knew what God would have them to do." To help you make your own assessment of the situation, I've distinguished 25 benchmark issues that clearly define the intensity of the tempest that is nearly upon us. And yes, there are obvious comparisons with the growth of Nazism in Germany. I will point them out unabashedly because it's only reasonable to say so if something that looks similar to an earlier, dangerous historical parallel actually is similar. After all, storm warnings, by nature, foretell bad news.

As you read through my list, I invite you to understand the times and prepare to respond with a Biblical worldview.

  1. Hitler eliminated Christian holidays in the schools first by calling Christmas "Yuletide." Most American public schools now call Christmas vacation a "winter break."
  2. Hitler outlawed school prayer in Germany. In 1962, The U.S. Supreme Court did the same for us.
  3. Hitler took Easter out of schools and instead honored that time of year as the beginning of spring. It has likewise become common for schools in America to refer to time off at Easter as "spring break."
  4. Hitler controlled the church using intimidation and threats. A half-century ago, U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Baines Johnson, promoted a bill that included an amendment to use the Internal Revenue Service to remove the non-profit status of a church that speaks against the election of any specific political candidate.
  5. Hitler enticed thousands of pastors to promote paganism in their congregations. Neopaganism is one of the fastest growing religions in America, doubling every 18 months according to a June 2008 article in The Denver Post. Many American church-goers practice paganism such as "Christian" yoga, contemplative prayer, and walking a labyrinth. As evidence that church doors continue to open further to aberrant beliefs, a 2008 survey found that 57% of evangelicals do not believe Jesus Christ is the only way to God.
  6. Hitler prevented dissenters from using radio to challenge his worldview. Many powerful liberals in America have made clear their intent to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" that would require conservative and religious radio stations to offer equal time to anti-Christian, anti-conservative worldviews.
  7. Pastors who spoke against Hitler's worldview and his murderous regime found themselves on trial and frequently imprisoned for "Abuse of Pulpit." In America, hate-crime legislation has the potential to criminalize Christians and pastors who speak out against the homosexual agenda.
