Easy Silver Cleaner
I saw advertised a silver cleaner that uses a "conductor
plate" and a powder to clean silver. I guess our family has
been using this method for years. In my grandmother's
cookbook, which she presented to my mother in 1941, she had
written how to clean silverware, and we have followed it since
then.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Place silverware in an aluminum pan and cover silverware with
water. Add soda and salt and boil for one minute. Wash and pat
dry.
Don't have an old aluminum pan? Add some crushed aluminum foil
to your pan of water, as it will do the same thing. The pan or
foil will turn dark, so use an old pan.
